Subject Masterclasses are subject-specific events that offer academically able students in Year 12 (or equivalent) the chance to experience typical undergraduate teaching at the University of Cambridge, and to get a flavour of what it's like to be a student here.
The Masterclasses cover a range of subjects and provide students with an opportunity to explore topics of interest beyond what's covered within the school curriculum.
In March each year, the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford organise a series of joint conferences in locations across the UK, for Year 12 (or equivalent) students and their teachers/HE advisers.*
The conferences are designed to provide up-to-date information on courses available, the application and admissions procedure, and student life at both Universities. Admissions Tutors, academic staff and current undergraduate students will be on hand to answer questions.
The Cambridge Sutton Trust Summer Schools are week-long, subject-specific residentials, where you live and study as a Cambridge student. You’ll stay in your own private student room within a Cambridge College, eat with other Summer School students in the canteens and socialise in the common rooms.
The post-16 subject choices students make in Year 11 can have a major impact on their course and university options. Selective universities such as the University of Cambridge often consider not only the individual subjects, but also the combination of subjects because they prepare students more effectively for those courses.
The Subject Matters is a series of Cambridge based events for Year 10 and Year 11 students and their parents and supporters.
